Nello Cristianini is a Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Bristol from 2006, after having been a professor of statistics at the University of California, Davis. His interests are in machine learning and artificial intelligence, their theory, and applications to the social sciences. Cristianini holds a PhD from the University of Bristol, a MSc from Royal Holloway, University of London and a BSc in Physics from the University of Trieste. He is the co-author of various books on machine learning, and a past holder of a Royal Society Research Merit Award, and a ERC Advanced grant.
